In the name of God Amen, I Asa W.F. Chapman of the State and County aforesaid now in life and being of sound mind and disposing memory _____ knowing in course of nature that I must depart this life deem it right and proper both as respects myself and family that I should make a disposition of the property with which a kind providence has helped me I therefore make this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking and amending all other heretofore made by me.
Item 1st I desire and direct that my body be buried in a decent and Christian like manner suitable to my circumstances my soul I trust will return to rest with God who gave it.
Item 2nd I desire and direct that all my just debts be paid without delay aforementioned.
Item 3rd I will and desire that my Executor hereinafter named do proceed after my death to advertise and sell a sufficient quantity of the property of which I any be ___________ to pay all my debt as aforementioned.
Item 4th For and consideration of the love and natural affection that I have and bear for my wife Martha A. Chapman I give and bequeath to her all the remaining part of my estate after paying my debts as aforesaid.
Item 5th I will and desire and bequeath provided my wife should bear issue with the limitation of law said ______________ issue to _____ one half of my said estate heretofore bequeathed to my wife.
Item 6th I will and desire that if my wife should not bear _____ within the limitation aforenamed that my estate be disposed of and bequeathed in them the fourth.
Item 7th I do hereby constitute and appoint Nathan T. Haugh and Wiley T. Heigh Executors of this my Last Will and Testament.
Signed, sealed, declared and published by Asa W. F. Chapman as his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us the subscriber who subscribe our names hereunto in presence of said Testor and of each other this the 9th day of February 1837.

Personally appeared before me James H. Roberts and Pleasant M. Compton after being duly __________ ___________ and sayeth that they saw Asa W.F. Chapman ______ and publish the above and within Will and Testament and that the same Testor was of sound and disposing mind at that time and the said James H. Roberts and Pleasant M. Compton signed the same as witnessed in the presence of the Testator and in presence of each other and they also saw Hugh Wise sign the same in presence of the Testator as a witness sworn to and subscribed before us.
